My Journey to Honest Food...Out of the Mouths of Babes

I realize that I've gone back into "bloggy hibernation" again...I didn't intend to do this, but I've been overwhelmed with activity since we took my dh's mother to the hospital. She is finally moved into her new and permanent residence at an assisted living facility near our home, and for that I am grateful. But the massive task of cleaning out her home of 55 years is still in the early stages, and I just haven't had time to blog.

However, I saw this video and wanted to share it. Makes me wonder about the "organic" produce in our grocery stores. I seriously want to get myself a smaller house with a larger yard and grow my own food. Enjoy this sweet child and her brilliant yet simple experiment!

Leave a note...I love to hear from you!

Welcome back! or, kinda back. Glad to see you are still alive & kicking. WOW, thanks for sharing that video. I'll have to show that to the family. And to think I just picked up some organic carrots at WM to save me some time & not having to make another stop - to the health food store - NEVER AGAIN!!! That was a great experiment. Something like that should go viral. Take care dear.

I know, but for us, it is not an option, so I just buy the best I can and hope for the best. There is always another level up that I just can't reach. For instance, we are trying to buy organic eggs, but pastured eggs would be better, and having a chicken even better than that! I'll take my organic free range eggs over the old regular ones and maybe one day God will let me have my chickens.

I'm trying desperately to pull myself out of blogging hibernation as well. It is challenging going from having all my kids basically raised to young adulthood to raising a two-year-old. One just never knows where life will lead. Since I was last involved with Friday Farmgirls we moved from the city to the country! I am so excited to start back up with that project. Are there still regular participants? I will have so much to share through our journey.

I saw the video you shared before. It sure is an eyeopener, isn't it? I am looking forward to taming some of our land, raising our own produce, putting up food, and eventually adding animals to our 'farm'. One day...soon...I hope that our little slice of heaven does deserve the title farm.

Welcome back!

Hey Ladies! Thanks for the "welcome backs," even "sort-of!!!" Jenn, I know what you mean...supermarket organic IS better than non-organic/GMO. I am so glad to see that they are offering it even at the big box stores and buyers' clubs. And yet, it is not the same as out of the earth in your own yard. Funny thing, growing it ourselves is the CHEAPEST, and yet we balk at doing it because it's dressed in overalls and looks like dirt, LOL! Anyway, at least for the summer months here, I can grow some things :-D

Tina, I may just have to resurrect FFG for you, LOL! No one was posting, so I dropped it. I don'[t want to pay for the linkies, though, so I'll have to see if the free ones are any good. They were terrible last I was there, so I bought the year's subscription.

Thanks for visiting!
